The District has seventeen councillors distributed throughout three District Electoral Areas:

The Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) holds seven seats whereas the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) holds five seats. Both the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) and Sinn Féin hold two seats each and the Alliance Party holds one seat. Having been elected in May 2011, these councillors will hold office for four years until the next local government elections take place in 2015. |
