Q1. Who can attend Banbridge DPP Meetings in Public and what can they expect if they attend?
A1. Everyone is welcome to attend Banbridge DPP Meetings in Public, which are held at different venues and times to ensure that they are accessible to everyone living and working in the District. The details of forthcoming Meetings in Public are advertised on this website as well as in the local press. The format of the Meetings in Public has changed in response to feedback from people attending the Meetings. Members of the public are now able to ask questions about issues being discussed and to comment on other policing and crime issues. 

Q2. How can I ask a question at a Meeting in Public of Banbridge DPP?
A2. You can ask a DPP member to raise a question or issue about local policing and crime on your behalf. Alternatively, you can submit a written question at the Meeting or in advance of the Meeting. Written questions can be sent in on the Freepost form that is contained within the DPP information leaflet or by letter, fax and email.  You can also contact the DPP Manager by telephone. You can submit a question anonymously, or you can provide your details which means that you will get a written response to your question. Your details will not be supplied to DPP members or publicised at the Meeting in Public. 
 
Q3. How can my community group find out more about Banbridge DPP?
A3. Banbridge DPP members are keen to attend meetings of local community groups in order to discuss local policing and crime issues, raise awareness of the financial support that Banbridge DPP can give to local community groups (It is able to provide funds for room hire and light refreshments when a group is meeting to consider local policing and crime issues) and to promote activities which community groups can undertake with the local police to help prevent crime (It supports Neighbourhood Watch Northern Ireland and is working with Banbridge police and Banbridge District Community Safety Partnership to support groups in getting establishedYou can contact the DPP Manager to arrange for a DPP member to attend a meeting of your community group.

Q4. What type of activities will Banbridge DPP be involved in this year?
A4. Every Autumn, DPPs have to consult with the community to identify priorities for the next year’s local Policing Plan. This year (2005) there will be no postal survey so it’s essential that Banbridge DPP members get the opportunity to talk with local community groups across the District during September, October and November to discuss views on policing priorities for next year (2006-2007).
Other activities will be publicised in the local press and via the DPP website.
