Banbridge District Council is committed to making the information contained within its website accessible to all users, particularly less abled users suffering from partial or complete blindness or colour blindness. Wherever possible we have produced AA compliant pages (tested using BOBBY) according to the Website Accessibility Initiative Guidelines.

Text Only
Located in the top right corner of each page, the text only option allows you to view just the texual content of each page without the images, graphics and integrated template design. You change the background colour and the text colour depending on your preferences. In addition, we have limited the use of Javascript to ensure that all browsing media and devices are able to access the information on this site with ease.

Text Size
You can adjust the size of text on each page using tools print into your browser.

Internet Explorer	Pull down the 'View' menu and select 'Text Size' and select larger or largest.
Netscape	Pull down the 'View' menu and select 'Increase Font'. Keep selecting this until you are happy with the size of the text.
Mozilla and Firefox	For Mozilla and Firefox users, select the 'view' option on the toolbar, choose 'text size' and use the 'increase' function until the text is a satisfactory size.
Safari	For Safari users, select the view option on the toolbar and use the make text bigger function until the text is a satisfactory size.

Font/Background Colour
You can change the font colour and background colour by using your browser options.

Internet Explorer	Pull down the 'Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options'. On the 'General' tab, click 'Accessibility'. Change the settings as needed. For assistance, click on the '?' symbol for advice on the formatting and style sheet options. You can also change the colour of the font and the background by selecting colors in the Internet Options dialogue box.
Netscape	Pull down the 'Edit' menu and select 'Preferences'. In the dialogue box select 'Font' and change the font size in the 'Size' fields. If you want these fonts to override the fonts selected by the web designer select "Use my default fonts, overriding document fonts". You can also change the colour of the text and background by selecting the color option in the 'Preferences' dialogue box.

Accessibility Software
Many of the newer PCs come with 'Accessibility' software already installed. Normally to access this software, select the Windows 'Start' menu, select 'Accessories', then select 'Accessibility'. You should have two further choices, Accessibility Wizard which you can use to configure Windows for your vision, hearing and mobility needs and Magnifier which you can use to magnify the text in any software package which is open on your desk top.

Every effort has been made to ensure this website is easily readable using 'plain english'. In addition, we have ensured that the design of this website is not an obstacle to its usability and readability.
